Itinerary
Very early in the morning pick up from your hotel and transfer towards Pitec hamlet, located 1 hour from Huaraz city, start point of the trek. The trail ascents by a ridge, not very steep, in direction to Churup Peak with views of Cashan and Shaqsha peaks. Then, the path goes into a canyon where you can appreciate beautiful waterfalls. After 2 or 3 hours walking, you arrive to the most difficult point of the route, a 30 meter ascent without difficulty for a 70° slope (if it is required, the guide will put a rope). Then, a walk of 20 minutes more until arriving to the lake, where you will have enough time to rest, lunch and take pictures. The descent to Pitec takes about 2 hours, place where the transport waits to take you back to Huaraz city. In arrival transfer to your hotel. |
